Meet Jonell.
Prior to establishing Rae Adam Design Studio, Jonell enjoyed a successful, 23-year career in Human Centered Design in the digital world. She served in roles as project manager, information architect, design director, and finally, as an executive leader supporting a global UX design team and practice at one of America's largest financial services institutions.
Jonell trained in and mastered the Stanford d.school Design Thinking methodology and Visual Thinking Strategies facilitation practice. She learned that successful designs start with empathy and understanding. She has a gift for creating an environment where people can be real, open, and at ease. She listens to understand and internalizes nuanced details from conversations that she carries into her clients' designs. Jonell follows a disciplined creative process, creates trusting relationships with diverse teams, and gets things done in a way that meets the needs of many voices.
She is grateful the skills and lessons learned during her career in Human Centered Design apply so seamlessly to Interior Design.
Jonell is a Minnesota farm girl at heart. She also loves the process of learning, especially expanding her knowledge of how we think, feel, and act as humans related to our environments and histories.
She's a boymom, believer, and an Enneagram 2 at her core.
Getting to know who her clients are, how they want to live, and how their home needs to function is critical to achieving a lasting design that brings them delight. She looks forward to helping you achieve a result you'll love and for you to enjoy the process along the way.
Visual Comfort & Co.
Yes, this one is a bit of a splurge. If you're going to make a statement, do it with lighting. This pendant is a head-turner. Classic. Modern. Sophisticated. It will stand the test of trend and time.
WOW Design
These tiles from their Grace Collection are among my absolutely favorites. Their 7 colors run bold to neutral. Their shapes are oval and rectangular. And, their two finishes are a deep translucent crystalline gloss and a smooth matte which do not reflect any light.
Phillip Jeffries
This beautifully textured shibori motif wallcovering inspires a serene and dimensional mood. Another perk of this wallcovering is a nearly imperceptible seam when installed, which allows your eye to flow without interruption. While this color is my favorite, it's offered in 5 additional colors.
Newport Brass
This is their Pavani 3100 Widespread lavatory faucet. I fell in love with this faucet when visiting a Ferguson showroom. The handles feel amazing and the water flows as you'd expect a higher-end faucet to flow. Solid brass construction, ADA compliant handles, and available in over 20 finishes.
Luke Lamp Co.
I'm in love with Luke Lamp Co. Their work is sophisticated, edgy, interesting, and just downright cool. I often find myself saying, "I could make that," but I don't. While this sconce is a bit reminiscent of Wonder Woman and her Lasso of Truth, I think one (or 2) of these in the right spot would absolutely stunning.
FYI, FWIW: While these are individual products I love, I take a holistic view when guiding you through material selection. To achieve a cohesive, thoughtfully designed living space, it's important to consider your goals, needs, context, and the environment in which these items will function - and how they will meet your needs - before making purchasing decisions.
